It's quite normal for children to inherit many of the virtues (and defects) of their parents. Many wise proverbs confirm this, such as "Like father, like son", and NotodoPubliFest.com is no exception. The Festival that now emerges carries in its genes the enthusiasm and eagerness of the same team that almost four years ago started up Notodo.com, a website specialised in selecting and recommending the best in the world of culture. Notodo.com appeared in 2000 at the initiative of La Fábrica, a private cultural management enterprise responsible, among other projects, for Matador, the magazine about culture, ideas and trends, and PHotoEspaña, the International Photography Festival. Within a very short time, Notodo became independent in order to develop its own projects within the Internet world: Notodohoteles.com, Photogalería.com and one of our favourite "offspring", NotodoFilmFest.com, the first compressed film festival on Internet, which we organise side by side with Plus.es.

With just three editions behind us, NotodoFilmFest.com has become one of the most renowned film festivals both on and off the Web. Our objective was clear: to become the best possible platform for everyone who wanted to make films with limited resources and great ideas - in other words, to "democratise" cinema - and we've exceeded all our expectations. More than 1,500 films in the three years of our history back our claim. NotodoPubliFest.com was a foreseeable consequence and something we have looked forward to for some time: a new adventure in which our veteran travelling companion, Digital+, joins us anew. When we began to set up this new project, our plan was clear: if so many young people have been able to tell good film stories, surely they have the same talent for creating the advertising that they themselves would like to see. That is our belief and the basis for our desire to turn NotodoPubliFest.com, the First Do-It-Yourself Advertising Festival, into a reality.

Our record backs us, of course, but above all we emerge with a desire to be independent, and therefore we needed to count on someone with enough experience to guide us along this new path. Luck was with us and Quico Vidal came along. Since beginning his career, Quico has worked with several advertising agencies: J. Walter Thompson, IMP, D'Arcy and finally TBWA Madrid, where he was General Creative Director until a short time ago. One of his most representative endeavours (and the one he is proudest of) was for Camper, where he directed creativity in communications, advertising, graphic design, stores, Internet, etc. in many countries. With such a curriculum, we could not let him pass by without making an "indecent" proposal. And, as luck would have it, he let himself be convinced and became Associate Creative Director of La Fábrica, a job he combines with managing a new creative consulting firm called NADIE. THE CREATIVE THINK TANK, specialised in brandbuilding, entrepreneurial creativity and advertising.

We all begin this new Internet adventure together, united by a love and passion for ideas, creativity and advertising. And we're counting on you!
